This description is quite fitting. The two silkworms also appear distinct in appearance. Tussah silkworms differ noticeably from Mulberry silkworms, appearing more rugged. Due to their free-range nature and the northern climate, they are more resilient, and the silk they produce is coarser and harder, mirroring their appearance. This more raw, natural style is more pronounced, and the yield is undoubtedly much lower than that of Mulberry silk. Understanding the environmental characteristics of Tussah silkworms makes it easier to appreciate the distinctive style of Tussah silk fabrics. Tussah silkworms possess a wild, untamed spirit; their silk is coarse. We are not unfamiliar with Tussah silk and Tussah silk fabrics. Because of our particular fondness for it, we have made it a practice to use it in small quantities each year, and we always provide basic explanations in the product descriptions. However, each Tussah silk fabric has its own unique characteristics, primarily influencing the yarn count and weaving variations. Like Mulberry silk, Tussah silk also carries characteristics passed down through different stages. The distinct features of different varieties can vary significantly. This particular fabric is made from fine, long staple yarns, characterized by their lightness, slight roughness, and luster. Regarding the luster of Tussah silk, I recall being particularly struck years ago: "On a fabric that is incredibly simple and unadorned, there is a dazzling, high-profile sheen. This is truly a beautiful 'conflict'." The color of this fabric is a natural ecru, meaning it is an untreated raw fabric. Yet, even as raw fabric, Tussah silk has a unique recognizability compared to natural fibers like cotton, linen, or Mulberry silk: its luster. The luster is truly exceptional. Upon closer inspection of the fabric's texture, one finds a natural earthiness within its fineness, and every yarn shimmers with a captivating radiance. Influenced by this rich interplay of light, the ecru color appears even softer and warmer, like cheese, or like warm light cast upon warm wood, gentle and comforting. The fabric is lightweight. Due to the "extremely light" characteristic of Tussah silk, the entire fabric feels almost weightless. The hand-feel has a slight rustling sound, and it feels more "bone-dry" and textured. We have treated the fabric only with water, preserving its original color tone and feel. However, all natural fibers share a characteristic: they require nourishment from the body. As it is worn more often, it undergoes subtle changes, becoming softer to the touch, as if the barrier has completely dissolved after being permeated by sweat. If one were to describe it with evocative language: it is a transformative process of vitality, changing with the passage of time and the unfolding of years.
