Wood-Fired Ancient Bronze Gold Glaze Tea Sea / Gong Dao Bei / P & F Ceramic Designs - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery

Product Description

Life continues, simple and unadorned. Brewing a pot of fine tea and pouring it into the tea sea, time seems to stand still, the aroma of tea fills the air, and the years drift by peacefully. This wood-fired gold glaze tea sea, where ash glaze blends with gold, possesses a beauty that is both opulent and rustic, with a clean, decisive pour. Capacity: Approx. 300cc The creations from P & F Ceramic Designs are not mass-produced. Each piece is born from a unique concept and design, imbued with life through the process of pure hand-pinching or wheel-throwing. Every item is one of a kind. Our works are a collaboration between my husband and I, hence the signature mark of "Ping" or "Fan." Larger pieces bear the "P & F Ceramic Designs" kiln seal, making them truly unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264550_68d52fdae8_b.jpg **1. What is the origin of the materials?** We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51566346721_76eb324304_h.jpg **2. What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in various proportions. The forming process is done entirely by hand (not on a potter's wheel), shaping the piece slowly. After basic forming, the body lines are refined, and then polished to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, the pieces undergo a continuous five-day, four-night wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash glaze adheres to the works, forming a unique ash glaze effect. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln flow across the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash glaze and flame patterns intertwining, the pieces require a week to cool down before revealing their beautiful form! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each wood-firing, the ash glaze and flame patterns on each piece are never the same, ensuring that every creation is truly unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565533012_fdce6d65a3_h.jpg **3. What should our esteemed guests be aware of?** The color of the product may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As each piece is handcrafted, it will bear the traces of the maker's touch. Minor variations may also occur during the firing process, such as slight imperfections in the rim or minor production scratches; these are normal and do not affect usability.
