The outer wall of the cup is adorned with blue and white patterns depicting a sea of clouds, where auspicious creatures roam. The bottom edge is embellished with lotus petal motifs, and around the upper edge of the tall foot, there is a painted scroll pattern of grass. Two green lines decorate the lower part of the tall foot. The center of the cup bears the inscription in regular script, 'Made during the Xuande reign of the Great Ming,' in two lines of six characters each.
