Nanbu tekki Morio Sato's handmade kettle tetsubin cherry blossoms 1.5L - Teapots & Teacups - Other Metals Brown

Product Description

※Due to the hand-coloring process, there are individual differences in coloring. This is a handmade iron kettle made by caster Morio Sato. He is a skilled craftsman who has been making iron kettles for 60 years. Each piece is carefully finished using traditional techniques. Beautifully finished tetsubin. This iron kettle has an Arare pattern as its base, with a cherry blossom pattern inside the ring. The cherry blossom pattern inside the ring adds a playful and soft atmosphere, while the Arare pattern on the outside brings out elegance and beauty. The lid is also decorated with an Arare pattern and a cherry blossom pattern. The handle of the lid is designed in the shape of a flower bud. The handle has been twisted to accentuate one point. The twisted finish improves the ease of holding and fitting in the hand, and enhances the beauty and style of the tetsubin as a whole. The handle is fixed. The inside is finished with a rust-resistant finish using the traditional 「kama-yaki」 technique. Kamayaki is done by firing the tetsubin in a high-temperature oven. This process forms an oxide film on the surface of the tetsubin. The oxide film stabilizes the iron content of the tetsubin. The flavor of boiled water is improved and rust and corrosion are prevented. Rust-proofing by kettle firing is a traditional technique that has been handed down since ancient times. Natural lacquer baking finish on the outside. Natural lacquer baking finish is a traditional method of applying natural lacquer to the surface of the tetsubin and firing it. This process protects the surface of the tetsubin from rust and stains. Natural lacquer is also highly durable and keeps the texture and color of the tetsubin beautifully for a long period of time. It creates a withered look and expresses Japanese 「wabi-sabi」, which is not only glamorous but also elegant. 「Wabi-sabi」 is an important concept that symbolizes Japanese culture and spirituality. The capacity is approximately 1.5 liters, which is large enough to boil a lot of water. Compatible with gas and induction cookers. ※Do not use on high heat. Doing so may cause cracks or holes.
