KMZ plant, 1990s RARE BATTERY ADAPTER FOR RUSSIAN ZENIT-AM-2 CAMERA ABOUT ITEM'S ORIGIN (You can SKIP it!) ZENIT-AUTOMAT was a camera very uncommon with previous ZENIT series cameras, one of first SLR cameras with really working automatic exposition. The camera received Pentax-K lens mount, it was 2nd camera with such lens mount after ALMAZ-103 camera. The camera had curtain shutter and was not very reliable at really cold Russian weather. ZENIT-AM model replaced ZENIT-AUTOMAT and produced since 1988 year at KMZ plant at Krasnogorsk town. It received advanced FZL-84 shutter with metal vertical travel strips and 6V socket for external buttery pack, which can be useful with cold weather. ZENIT-AM-2 camera is same with previous ZENIT-AM camera but it have no the self-timer.
