→ Product Introduction
Regarded as the foremost of the Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty, Ru ware is celebrated for its lustrous glaze and its characteristic "condensed fat" finish. Its understated elegance and refined simplicity made it a peerless ceramic masterpiece of the Song era.
Master Ye's Ru porcelain features a balanced iron content and controlled reduction firing. The clay body presents a grayish-brown hue, while the glaze shifts between sky blue and powder blue under different lighting, evoking a sense of fusion between the earth and the glaze. The crackles are as fine as fish scales, gradually deepening and becoming more lustrous upon contact with tea.
Furthermore, this piece is adorned with a distinct glaze on the cup's rim, mimicking the flow of a landscape painting, imbuing the tea ware with added variation and vitality.
The hand-thrown cup shape is rounded and fits comfortably in the hand, showcasing the potter's decades of craftsmanship.

* Most products in this design館 are handcrafted, and the glaze or ash fall on each piece will vary, which is part of the charm of ceramic art. Therefore, once a piece is sold out, it will not be restocked, and an identical piece cannot be found. If a piece you like is purchased by someone else, we apologize, but you will need to choose another item from our collection, or contact the designer to see if a similar piece is available.
* Dimensions are measured by hand and may have an error of within 0.5 cm.
* There may be some marks from the trimming process, as each piece is handmade or semi-handmade, and there will inevitably be some individual differences.
* During the production process, the glaze or ash fall may exhibit some unevenness and flow, which is a natural phenomenon. This is precisely what is emphasized in natural glazes; ceramics are inherently natural. If you have any questions about the product, please send us a private message.
* Product colors are as true as possible, as the items are photographed in a studio with adjusted lighting and environment, but without any post-production editing. Please refer to the actual product for color accuracy, as discrepancies will not be considered defects.

- The texture of Xiangyi Kiln's Ru porcelain is like condensed fat, warm and smooth like jade, making it very pleasing. The even crackle, which deepens with tea over time, is further enhanced by a different glaze on the cup's rim, reminiscent of flowing landscape paintings. This adds a layer of dynamism and charm to the tea ware.
