This is a delicate bracelet, intricately strung with old Tibetan turquoise, ancient agate, grape and deep red white hearts, old Chin silver, and Orissa brass. The old Tibetan turquoise beads are approximately 100 to 200 years old, possibly even older. They were acquired directly from a collector in Tibet. Turquoise is often referred to as a "Fallen Skystone" and has been revered as a protective amulet and sacred stone across various cultures since ancient times. In Tibet, it has even been used medicinally. It is one of the stones passed down and worn for millennia. These are natural turquoise, without any coatings. Their gentle mint green hue is truly captivating. (Turquoise bead size: 0.9cm width x 0.9cm height x 0.5cm depth) The bracelet is adorned with milky, semi-transparent ancient agate featuring delicate white stripes. These beads were unearthed in the Indus River basin, spanning regions like Pakistan and India, and date back approximately 2000 years. Each perfectly round bead showcases intricate, beautiful banding. The purple and red beads are antique "white heart" beads, named for their white core visible when broken. These are Venetian beads from the 19th to 20th century. They are a mix of grape-like hues and deep reds. While red white hearts are common, these purple ones are quite rare! A larger, deep red white heart bead is placed alongside the ancient agate. Nestled between the old Tibetan turquoise and ancient agate, the plump silver beads are exceptionally rare old Chin silver, dating from the 18th to 19th century and originating from Burma. These beads were traditionally used by Chin women in necklaces and exhibit a unique patina and endearing signs of wear. Their substantial feel and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though some modern pieces are also striking). These antique beads have seen a significant price increase in recent years. A single emerald green Indo-Pacific bead is placed near the clasp. The golden beads are old Orissa brass, rare and ancient beads from the Orissa region of India. The charm near the clasp is also old brass, sourced from India. Each Karen silver bead is individually stamped! The thought of them being meticulously handcrafted is truly awe-inspiring. The elegantly curved clasp is also made of Karen silver. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in the border regions of Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handmade, and the silver is said to be of very high purity. Connected with waxed cord, the bracelet may feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
