These shoes are part of our series that utilizes Japan-made textiles.
We've incorporated "Kiryu-ori," a textile from Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, a region with over 1300 years of weaving history.
The design features low-cut sneakers with a black platform sole,
black cowhide leather on the sides,
black x silver knit fabric on the top,
and silver knit fabric on the heel.
They feature an elastic band for easy on and off.
As these are custom-made products, please specify your desired size and sole type when ordering.
The knit fabric on the top is
"TRICOLUM," a knit fabric with the concept of "weaving light." It has been adopted by Chanel and Saint Laurent.
Gold threads are woven in, creating a camouflage-like woven pattern.
Enjoy the changing expressions with every step you take.
⚫︎About TRICOLUM
Let us tell you about the naming of this fabric brand.
TRICOLUM designs fabrics with the theme of "weaving light."
It is a coined word combining the French words TRICOTER (to knit) and LUMIÈRE (light).
It has been adopted by Chanel and Saint Laurent, whose headquarters are in Paris, and the font used for the lettering is Optima Nova Titling, the same as used in the Louvre Museum's signage.
The logo mark is an icon symbolizing the fiber structure of the lamé fabric.
⚫︎About Lame thread
"The secret to its mysterious shimmer that changes with the viewing angle."
Starting with an infinite selection of lamé threads,
meticulous calculations are made regarding the weaving distribution and fabric thickness, and the careful craftsmanship of weaving these into fabric creates a unique shimmer.
⚫︎About Knitting
This special knit fabric is produced by a veteran craftsman who single-handedly manages a knit manufacturing factory in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture.
Through trial production using various methods, and by bringing together knitting machines and techniques from around 1980 unique to this location, we were finally able to produce this fabric.
While there are many textile factories in the North Kanto region, including Kiryu, the number of factories closing down is increasing in recent years, largely due to decreased domestic fabric consumption and an aging workforce.
It was through our encounter with this factory that we succeeded in producing high-quality fabric that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
