Not everyone may know that cinnamon is grown in Taiwan, but its use is different from that in foreign countries. The leaves are usually dried and brewed with hot water for drinking. The bark is not harvested and processed into common cinnamon sticks and other products.
However, in the routine work of farm management, there are occasionally branches obtained by maintenance and pruning. Careful producers remove the bark, dry it and grind it into powder, which is the rare native cinnamon bark powder.
Coming from Changzhi Township, Pingtung, the local cinnamon bark powder is not as pungent as foreign ones, but has a warm and sweet flavor. We mix it with "ripe" banana puree to create a spicy, fragrant and fruity cinnamon banana. Sugar cream sauce is wrapped on rice crackers, showing the passionate and unrestrained southern style of the island.
