After applying the white glaze over the entire bowl, a blue-green glaze is applied to the rim and fired. The melting glaze flows to create unique patterns. The distinctive patterns and refreshing grass-green hue, born from the serendipity of the firing process, will add color to your dining table. This is a deep small bowl, capable of holding dishes with a good amount of liquid. Ideal for dressed vegetables, simmered dishes, Japanese side dishes, or tofu creations. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in our studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, offering a charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. To minimize scratching your table, the base has been sanded smooth before shipping. We explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations to create pottery in a wide range of colors and shapes.
