Lately, work has been quite fulfilling, and a quick glance at my phone reveals over thirty unread messages. Yet, each time I return to my wooden cabin, take out my beloved Japanese iron teapot, heat the water, wait for it to boil, and watch the steam rise from the spout, my heart gradually calms down. Next, I select a teapot that matches my mood for the day, much like an emperor choosing concubines 🤣🤣 This particular teapot has a look that instantly brings a sense of relaxation. Its rounded form, with a natural wood-fired glaze that resembles burnished bronze under the sun, is warm and lustrous. The knob on the lid is charming, both elegant and stable. "True leisure is finding ten minutes amidst the hustle to pour yourself a cup of tea." The pouring and stopping of the water are, as expected, neither rushed nor hesitant, offering a comfortable fluidity when serving tea. What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are kneaded in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (not a pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, followed by polishing to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's fire patterns flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and fire patterns intertwining, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! What should guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The works are purely handmade, and will inevitably bear traces of the hand-pinching process. Minor variations may also occur due to the firing process; slight imperfections in the rim or small production scratches are normal and do not affect normal use.
