Island Whispers Flora / 5.0cm Glossy Washi Tape

A collaboration with Liu Zhi Island ❤️ Let me tell you the story behind it, hahaha, the specifications are at the very bottom. ☞ Island Whispers Flora !!! This was actually my very first collaboration proposal (I was so nervous to ask!). I reached out to Xiao 8, who I feel a special connection with (///▽///). While browsing her artwork, I particularly fell in love with "Formosa Chronicle"! It was love at first sight! I immediately pointed to this series of postcards and asked if stickers were available. It seems the seed for this collaboration was planted right then and there. After officially deciding to collaborate, I asked for Xiao 8's input. We chose plants that suited each islander's character. I then selected my favorite combinations and illustrated them with a journal-style collage aesthetic, finally adding evocative text (˶ ̅᷄ −̫ ̅᷅˵). And thus, we completed a roll that we are both incredibly happy with! Xiao 8's name suggestion was brilliant and was quickly decided upon 😂 "Island signifies Taiwan and Liu Zhi Island, Whispers plays on the homophones for characters and also the feeling of conversation, and Flora represents the flowers you drew and also your own blooming essence! 😆" For the circular sticker, there was no question – it had to be the qipao-wearing cat girl who captured my heart at first sight: Mei Ying ♡. In this roll, you'll find various Taiwanese outfits from different eras. When drawing them with their accompanying plants, I considered practicality and a touch of vintage charm, ultimately choosing two distinct art styles (˶ ̅᷄ −̫ ̅᷅˵).
