Wood Fired Heavy Ash Side-Handle Teapot / Xiaopingfan Handmade - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery

Product Description

🔥 Ash Glazed Side-Handle Teapot with Heavy Ash Deposit 🔥 This side-handle teapot features rich kiln fire marks, making it hard to imagine the countless trials by fire and smoke it endured within the kiln. The deep, ancient bronze hue of the body exudes a low-key yet mysterious charm, much like the ancient poem: "Its color is like the ancient moon, free from dust," steady and elegant. The teapot body, with a capacity of approximately 220cc, is designed to be round and full, offering a comfortable grip and a smooth pour. A distinctive teapot is undoubtedly a touch of tranquility and elegance in life, making every sip of tea filled with the taste of happiness ❤️ # Teapot Capacity: Approx. 220cc # Smooth Pour # Round and Full Body # Does Not Drip When Pouring The beauty of life begins with a beautiful teapot. In the 2023 5th Shanghai International Wood Firing Ceramics Competition, both artists from Xiaopingfan Pottery Studio, Chen Shiping and Wang Yufan, had their works selected for excellence awards. Your support is our motivation to continue creating. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341561855_249c0591a6_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341437984_c608c50771_c.jpg 2023 Media Interview: The Lean Entrepreneurship Journey of Xiaopingfan Art https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341329978_bb6984d457_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341561785_f553253a82_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341329968_8834731df8_c.jpg The works from Xiaopingfan Pottery Studio do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, imbuing the process of pure hand-pinching or wheel-throwing with life. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Our studio's works are created together by my husband and I, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also bear the "Xiaopingfan Pottery Studio" seal, making them truly unique!! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264550_68d52fdae8_b.jpg **1. What is the origin of the works?** We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015014_0b15931da0_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565549942_7663197885_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015039_4c2a9b80e3_c.jpg **2. What is the wood firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are kneaded in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (not a pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After basic shaping, the lines of the body are refined, then polished to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, it undergoes a continuous five-day, four-night wood firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the fire marks within the kiln flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire patterns. After five days and four nights of ash and fire marks intertwining, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each wood firing, the ash deposit and fire marks on each piece are never the same, making every work unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015104_1eec785177_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264535_7bd0037e60_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565533012_fdce6d65a3_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51566346721_2b98f539f8_c.jpg **3. What should guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The works are purely handmade, and will inevitably bear traces of the crafting process. Minor variations may also occur due to the firing process; slight imperfections in the rim or minor production scratches are normal and do not affect normal use.
