US Army Air Force A-2 Flight Jacket
The U.S. Army Aviation Type A-2 leather summer open cockpit flight jacket was first standardized on May 9, 1931, and has become one of the most popular pilot garments of all time. Original specifications called for buckle-flap patch pockets and a neckline with a "hook-and-eye" neck closure and double diamond-stitched epaulets, trimmed with wool bracelets and a belt. The brown suede was made for Willis & Geiger, a US Army munitions contractor.

Tags read A-2 DWC type. 30-1415 AC Contract Order No. M 35-098 AC (1631) issued by the US Air Force, made by Willis & Geiger New York, size 38. Two exterior pockets. The jacket is in good condition. A pair of Levis looks great on a cool evening stroll on the town.
