Fiona Saunders vintage fashion design - La Chaussure d'Aimee lithography

Artist introduction_ Fiona Saunders was born in Rowe, London. She was educated at Saint Martins College of Art in London and the Royal College of Art, the UK's most prestigious postgraduate art school. Since then she has worked as an illustrator and graphic designer. To craft her shoe collection into works of art, Sanders traveled to historic shoemaking homes such as Northampton, England, where she discovered an inspiring collection of shoes. She also studied the work of twentieth-century masters such as Vivier, Blahnik and Ferragamo, and in her work she paid homage to the many artists and craftsmen who have inspired her throughout the ages. Saunders uses three-dimensional techniques to create bows, trims, fringes and embroidery by painting gouache on paper. The gouache is as decorative as the shoe itself.
