A handwritten scroll of French antique parchment dating back more than 400 years from the time of King Louis XV of France in 1622
Parchment is made from sheepskin or calfskin. Around 170 BC, Eumenes II, king of the ancient Anatolian kingdom of Pergamon, was the first to use parchment. Sheepskin was treated with lime, the wool was sheared off, and then softened with pumice to become this new writing material. The English name of parchment, "parchment", comes from the name of this city.
This is a very precious French handwritten parchment scroll that is more than 400 years old. It was created during the reign of King Louis XIII of France (approximately during the reign of Emperor Tianqi of the Ming Dynasty). Many antique documents collected in European museums are of this type of parchment scroll.
The material of the parchment scroll is tough, and the edges will not become fuzzy due to the friction of time like ancient paper scrolls. It can be taken out more often and used as a background for taking photos. It is also quite suitable for framing.
This document consists of four sheets of paper (8 pages)
Size: 28.5cm wide x 34.5cm long, pretty big
Year: 1622 (Louis XIII period), which is roughly the reign of Emperor Tianqi of the Ming Dynasty in terms of Chinese dynasties, so it is very old.
#The content was not deciphered, so I used picture text translation, but the writing was too sloppy and I couldn't understand the content. The words with neater handwriting and meaningful translation mentioned Royaux, which means royal family member in French.
#The frame is for posing and is no longer for sale.
#This kind of sheepskin scroll looks very beautiful when it is translucent under light.
The traces of the objects from more than 400 years ago are very obvious, so only those who can accept it can buy them.
