They also conduct stamp carving workshops and describe themselves as a "stamp carving professional." Currently residing in Taiwan, Chamil works from a charming old apartment in Taipei, dedicated to the art of stamp making. Previously, Chamil worked as an editor for publishing houses, magazines, and books, and now focuses full-time on stamp design. Each season, they release handmade original stamps, with published works ranging from Collection no. 1 to 8, featuring over 100 unique stamps. Their authored books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as the carving material, each stamp is painstakingly created with every cut. Chamil's stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday observations, travel experiences, and cherished interests, incorporating elements such as text, florals, geometric shapes, nature, and architecture. These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing overlapping lines and planes, along with minimalist primary and secondary lines, English text, and personally marked symbols to compose the final stamp imagery. Chamil enjoys combining stamps and colors, exploring the unique interplay and collaborative potential of different sized stamps through repetition. Many graphic designs also originate from snippets of stamp designs, extended through printing and pairing to create items like postcards and washi tape.
