Artist's Introduction: Clay is the softest, most universal memory residing deep within us all. It's an intimate friend, allowing us to express ourselves freely, shaping it as we wish. With both parents being ceramic artists, growing up surrounded by the studio, "eating dirt" as they say, felt perfectly natural.
Tea culture is a significant aspect of Chinese heritage, yet the demands of modern life make it challenging to fully immerse oneself in its beauty. Many classical arts, such as calligraphy and the art of ink, are gradually being forgotten or overlooked by younger generations. These are, however, precious cultural treasures unique to China. The aesthetic education we receive from childhood might be more inclined towards foreign styles, favoring designs and colors with a strong modern and fashionable appeal. I am particularly drawn to the freedom of ink. Despite its monochrome palette, it can convey a myriad of expressions through variations in density, depth, and the rhythm of brushstrokes. By merging Chinese tea culture with the art of ink, I aim to attract young people to explore these traditions in a way they find appealing and beautiful, demonstrating that they can indeed be a fashionable pursuit.
