A Bracelet of Earth-Toned Roman Glass, Antique Bohemian Beads, Excavated Beads, Tiny Brass Beads, Moss Agate, and Labradorite

This bracelet is crafted by connecting a variety of earth-toned Roman glass beads, antique Bohemian beads, excavated beads, tiny brass beads, moss agate, and labradorite. The slender, abacus-shaped, disc-shaped, and slightly rounded beads are Roman glass. Roman glass dates back to the Roman Empire (27 BCE - 395 CE). The elongated beads were once part of bangles, which is why they have a slight curve. While there are minor chips, they do not affect everyday wear. The clear, oval beads are early 20th-century Bohemian beads. They have age-related scratches, but these only enhance their incredible charm! (Bohemian bead size: 1cm width, 0.8cm height) The disc-shaped beads with white and light blue marbling are excavated beads. These silvered beads, excavated from Djenné in Mali, were originally entirely light blue, but patina has adhered to parts of them. With some areas showing silvering, these are beautiful and deeply evocative beads. They date back to around the 14th century. The beads with a slightly irregular, bun-like shape are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads. The origins of Indo-Pacific beads are said to date back to the 2nd century BCE. These particular beads are excavated artifacts from Indonesia, dating back an astonishing 1000 years or more, to around the 10th century! The "tsubutsubu" (tiny, granular) beads are brass beads crafted by the Benin people of Africa. They feature incredibly intricate detailing! The slender, oval brass beads come from Africa. We've paired these with faceted labradorite and moss agate. The clasp is an S-hook, allowing for versatile wear.
