A Truck Driver's Day - Raw Cotton-Linen Handmade Pocket Wide-Leg Pants

PET bottle ice, canned coffee, hand truck, sweat, golden brick toast, five stars, and rough palms. There was a truck driver who worked diligently every day, whether in the scorching heat of summer or the biting cold of winter. His secret weapon for summer was to freeze a whole bottle of iced tea in the freezer; the next day, he would carry this PET bottle of ice, keeping it by his side to last the whole day. His undershirt would get wet and dry, then wet again. When it came to moving jobs, he would be fully equipped—towel, hand truck, and sheer strength—sweat drying and then erupting, over and over again. It was exhausting work. His most frequent choice for lunch was the convenience store, usually a piece of toast and a can of coffee. If there was no place to park, he would wolf it down in the truck before heading to the next destination. When there was parking, I imagine him stepping out and standing at the convenience store entrance, wolfing down his meal before continuing his route. He worked very seriously, and after 31 years, he raised five star-like children. This year, he finally retired. I once looked through the pile of receipts he kept—so few, due to his frugality—and discovered a stack of receipts all identical: toast and canned coffee, totaling 45 yuan. That is why I drew one large, authentic coffee bean after another. When I first touched this raw, undyed cotton-linen, it reminded me of his palms. It has both coarse and fine textures; the coarseness is his palm, the fineness is his responsible heart.
