wood-ash glazed Pottery Tea Cup - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery Khaki

Product Description

Width: 75mm (approximately 2.95 inches) Height: 35mm (approximately 1.38 inches) Traditional Mu-Yu(Wood-Ash Glazed)Pottery Tea Cup Introducing a Mu-Yu pottery tea cup personally crafted by Master Potter Park Jeong-gyu, recognized as a master artisan in Jeollanam-do, Korea. Fired for 30 hours using the Mu-Yu method, as wooden ash ascends onto the pottery, melting to create a glaze-like luster, color, and texture. This firing technique brings forth brilliance and craftsmanship similar to glaze. You can experience the skill of a master who elevates wood to temperatures exceeding 1270 degrees, embodied in this tea cup. The Buncheong Mu-Yu Cup is a vessel crafted from Korea's traditional pottery, 'Buncheong,' emerging between Goryeo celadon and Joseon white porcelain. Width: 75mm (approximately 2.95 inches) Height: 35mm (approximately 1.38 inches) Firing may cause clay to shrink, leading to slight variations. All works at Yeongsanyo are handmade. As Mu-Yu cups use glaze, there might be fingerprints, flowing marks, or black spots due to iron particles. These characteristics inherent to handmade items are not valid reasons for exchange or return. Your understanding is appreciated. YeongsanYo Mu-Yu Tea Cups have been awarded a gold medal in the Ceramics section of the Skills Competition. Crafted by Master Potter Park Jeong-gyu, recognized as a Jeollanam-do pottery master in the January 2023 issue, these cups represent a culmination of over 37 years dedicated exclusively to the art of pottery. Shaped from the finest clay, the environment is carefully controlled to allow the clay to dry appropriately before the sculpting process begins. The Mu-Yu Tea Cups make their way to you through two rounds of firing.
