Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its firm and resilient texture. The surface color gradually darkens. Combined with the natural oils from your hands and the friction from daily use, it develops a rich, aged patina. This allows leather goods made from vegetable-tanned leather to transform uniquely with time and the user's habits. Therefore, farmers do not meticulously protect the cattle's skin. Consequently, during their lives, cattle may acquire marks from insect bites, scratches, or thorns. Free-ranging cattle might also bear branding scars, and as they grow, their skin develops natural lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult births, a mother cow might have surgical scars from a Cesarean section. When the animal is eventually processed for meat, the skinning process can also leave knife marks. These marks are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into cowhide, serving as a lifelong record of the animal's journey. Therefore, this service cannot be applied to dark-colored leathers such as black, dark blue, etc. - Some products require laser engraving before production. For finished items, laser engraving cannot be applied, and a separate production schedule will be arranged. Please contact customer service for production timelines when selecting this service. 🌞 Care and Maintenance -------------------- Frequent use is the best form of maintenance. Avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather accidentally becomes wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and deteriorate. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioner to replenish the oils, or spray it with a waterproof protector to guard against accidental spills and enhance surface protection. For storage or long periods of non-use, place the item in a dehumidifying cabinet set to 50%-60% humidity to prevent mold, or use a sealed bag with a desiccant for similar results. After one year, we continue to offer free leather maintenance, with a nominal fee for repairs. 5. Our studio prefers natural leather materials. Cowhide will not undergo excessive grinding or heavy surface coatings. Minor color variations, textures, and minor scratches are inherent and not grounds for complaint. If a perfectly flawless surface is required, it may be difficult for us to accommodate, and we do not accept requests for "flawless leather surfaces." Furthermore, once personalized with engraving or laser marking, returns will not be accepted unless there was a production error.
