Striped Blue Crow Butterfly ( Euploea mulciber barsine ) 紫斑蝶
There are many different types of Striped Blue Crows, and this particular one with its mysterious purple color is in the Euploea mulciber barsine subspecies.
Striped Blue Crows are found in Maolin District, a mountain district of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, each year during winter, creating a natural spectacle referred to as the “Purple Butterfly Valley”.
Striped Blue Crows are found each year from December to March of the following year in Maolin, but embroidered Striped Blue Crows are available all year round.
Wouldn’t it be fabulous to make a trip to Maolin this winter and bring your embroidered Striped Blue Crow to meet a real fluttering purple butterfly in the mountains ?
