【Totem Series】Rukai Slate / Animal Bones - Washi Tape - Paper Multicolor

Product Description

Product Story: For this collection, we visited the largest and best-preserved Rukai slate house settlement, Laqicaye, drawing inspiration from slate and animal bones to create this washi tape. Slate Houses/ The inspiration for this design comes from the Rukai village of Laqicaye, which preserves over 40 well-maintained slate houses. Legend has it that in ancient times, the sun was so close to the earth that it disrupted daily life. Thus, slate was used for construction, providing warmth in winter, coolness in summer, and shelter from wind and rain. Animal Bones/ The inspiration for this design also stems from the Rukai village of Laqicaye. Animal bones, such as vertebrae, ribs, and toe bones, were used in ancestral ceremonies, believed to transform into a pig. Skulls with horns could be hung inside or outside homes to signify heroic deeds. The jawbones of adult wild boars with tusks were used to decorate homes or as head ornaments. Animal teeth were also utilized for decoration. https://shop.r10s.com/55ee88b0-ec8c-11e4-9861-005056ae6702/upload/shop/mt/tape1541.JPG https://shop.r10s.com/55ee88b0-ec8c-11e4-9861-005056ae6702/upload/shop/mt/tape1543.JPG Material/ Translucent matte finish / Taiwanese Washi Paper Specifications/ 15mm width x 10m length Origin/Manufacturing Method Taiwan
