【Wild Game】Stomp Through Tainan's Old Town

This is an unconventional guide that blends gaming with an introduction to the historic city of Tainan. While it's a board game, it feels more like an "on-site exploration." In recent years, Tainan has seen a significant surge in tourism. Most visitors know Tainan for its "historical sites and delicious food," but often, their experience is superficial. Whether it's the Confucius Temple, Chihkan Tower, or the old Tainan Judicial Museum, many tours are brief, consisting of a quick walk-through. We aim to introduce players to Tainan's unique attractions through this game. The first edition covers the Confucius Temple Cultural Park area with the game "Wander Tainan's Old Town." This game transforms the historical anecdotes and stories behind the landmarks into game challenges. Players learn the stories and origins of each historical site by progressing through these challenges. A "challenge" mechanism is incorporated: incorrect answers require players to physically visit a designated spot, learning as they play. The game pieces are thoughtfully designed with magnets, allowing them to stay in place on the board even when moved. The game's characters are inspired by Tainan's local snacks, depicted as anthropomorphic meatballs: fish ball, shrimp ball, pork ball, and more.
