Recently, while tidying up a cabinet at home, I stumbled upon a pair of glasses my grandfather wore when he studied in Japan. Their exquisite and stylish design often drew inquiries from friends when I wore them, sparking my curiosity to uncover their origin. Through a friend's introduction and a series of visits, I finally found Master Ito in Fukui, renowned for his handcrafted frames. My grandfather's vintage glasses were a gift from Master Ito, a token of gratitude for treating his mother during a period of volunteer medical work. As I absorbed this unexpected story, Master Ito, learning through a translator about my plans to launch my own brand, generously offered me 96 pairs of handcrafted glasses he had collected over many years. To honor the touching bond between my grandfather and his old friend Master Ito from their youth, each pair of handcrafted glasses is engraved with a unique serial number on the temple, symbolizing this enduring and moving friendship and the meticulous care poured into the master's craft.
