It was founded in late 2012 by Japanese designer Yojiro Kake, who co-manages the brand with Taiwanese designer Oka HuiYun Lin. Currently, physical retail points include the Florence concept boutique Bjork Florence and La Gare 24, and Boutique 51 in Cairo, Egypt. *Brand Aesthetic* Yojiro, who favors the tailoring of gentlemen's wear, excels at applying these techniques to womenswear. Classic pieces such as shirts, jackets, and coats subtly showcase details and ingenuity derived from men's bespoke tailoring. The brand embodies an atmosphere akin to a child's dream—vibrant, expansive, yet tinged with anxiety and uncertainty. Life itself is the inspiration; the emotional people around him continually spark new ideas for Yojiro when he faces new designs. This is Yojiro's process of conveying his inner thoughts through design, as he is not one to express himself easily through words. *Yojiro Kake* Yojiro graduated from POLIMODA International Institute Fashion Design & Marketing in 2012, completing his undergraduate studies in Fashion Design. He previously studied and worked as a senior pattern maker and designer at YASUKO UEDA Technical College of Fashion in Japan. However, the ready-to-wear industry, solely pursuing profit, was not Yojiro's passion, leading him to re-study fashion design at POLIMODA, which offered a distinctly different teaching and design style. Encouraged and supported by POLIMODA's director and mentor Linda Loppa of the Antwerp Six, Yojiro began developing his independent brand in the year of his graduation. *Oka HuiYun Lin* In 2013, Oka pursued Fashion Styling at POLIMODA. She graduated from the Department of Industrial Design and the College of Fashion and Textiles, specializing in Shoe and Bag Design at Shih Chien University. She previously worked in visual and bag design, and briefly in restaurant front-of-house service and boutique retail. At the Yojiro Kake studio, she is responsible for brand image, seasonal style direction, brand audio-visuals, exhibition planning, and sales.
