Building No. 2 originally housed the Department of Physics. After the completion of the Center for Condensed Matter Sciences in 2000, the Department of Physics relocated. In 2005, in preparation for the university museum's development, early physics experimental instruments were organized, leading to the establishment of the "NTU Physics Heritage Hall" on the first floor of Building No. 2.
