Kunqu Opera "The Peony Pavilion" - The protagonists Liu Mengmei and Du Liniang
[The Peony Pavilion], also known as [The Record of the Return of the Soul], is a masterpiece by Tang Xianzu of the Ming Dynasty, holding significant importance in literary and theatrical history.
The original play consists of fifty-five acts, with a story that is intricate and moving. It depicts the love story between Du Liniang, the daughter of a prefect in the Song Dynasty, and the scholar Liu Mengmei. Liniang, startled by a dream while wandering in the garden, dies of longing for her dream lover. Three years after her death, she is resurrected through the power of love. Though fantastical and extraordinary, it reveals the touching power of "love."
I admire ink wash painting and traditional opera; this is a beautiful fusion.
I wish for more people to experience the wonder of Peking Opera combined with ink wash art.
It's not overly serious; it's quite delightful!
Sharing the beauty of Chinese culture with you all :)

The opera, passed down for centuries, possesses a beauty that is both real and dreamlike.
This is an encounter between Peking Opera and ink wash painting.
The characters in the play, in their diverse postures, are elegant and full of charm.
I hope to share this feeling with you.
Peking Opera, as a performing art, is not widely popular in Taiwan. I wonder how many young friends would be interested in it.
Its movements, martial arts, singing, and even the art of face painting are exquisitely beautiful!
I express the characters' distinct traits through "freehand brushwork" and a "playful style,"
making it more accessible and approachable for the general public!
