“Makami” is derived from “Oguchi no Makami”, who has been worshiped as a sacred beast in Japan since ancient times as an entity that protects crops from deer and wild boars.

Japan is an island country, so the food self-sufficiency rate is low, and there are many mountains, so the farmland is not large. For people involved in agriculture and forestry, the damage caused by wild animals (mainly deer and wild boar) is serious, and many animals sacrifice their lives for human survival.

However, we do not stop at exterminating them. We respect their lives and use them as important resources (assets). (In Japan, there is also a history of worshiping mountain beasts as gods and paying awe and respect since ancient times.)
