Our team's indigo dyeing workshop is located in Taiping District, Taichung City. They specialize in collecting local plants, extracting their pigments, and dyeing natural fibers to develop and produce daily craft products. Taiwan's indigo dyeing industry has experienced the threat of chemical dyes in the past, causing this traditional craft to disappear in Taiwan for nearly a hundred years. Therefore, in 2012, "Taiping Blue" established the brand to develop the community craft industry and devote itself to the preservation and inheritance of craft technology. Taiping Blue takes local creation as its foundation and moves towards an all-round business model, developing into a social enterprise with manufacturing, historical and cultural inheritance, educational significance, and tourism and leisure value. In addition to enhancing the connotation of the craft industry, it also organizes training programs for on-site construction classes, which indirectly promotes community prosperity and employment opportunities.
The "Sparkling Wooden Wall Clock" uses domestically produced cedar wood. The wood has been carefully carved by carpenters to create traces like water ripples, and then repeatedly dyed by Taiping Blue dyers to complete the deep indigo tone. When hung on the wall and illuminated by light, the carvings will show shadow levels, highlighting the elegant water pattern. Let home soft decoration design have more appearances, no longer just mass-produced industrial products, but with natural vision and touch.
