Producing baby pearls requires highly advanced techniques and the amount of pearls harvested from the beach is small. The production volume of 2mm size pearls accounts for less than 0.01% of the total production of cultured pearls in Japan, 3mm size accounts for 1.5%, 4mm size accounts for 2.5%, and 5mm size accounts for 3.5%.
It is extremely rare, with only 6.5% of the total production.
