Some people think that broken things have more flavor, and they appreciate the beauty of incompleteness, which has no rules to follow, does not last forever, is not completed, and is not perfect. This is probably what the aesthetics of wabi-sabi are all about.
Every broken object, just like the wounds on the body, can tell a story. If scars are the medals of people, then cracks are the medals of objects.
Original design by Guangshanxing: Kintsugi brooch badge, based on the concept of Kintsugi’s three important restoration elements:
"Crack" (ひびhibi): Cracks appear around the vessel, but the entire piece does not break apart.
"Cracked" (cut れware) has been broken into multiple pieces and needs to be reattached.
"Kake" means missing corners due to collision, and the pieces cannot be retrieved or the pieces are too small to fit together.
