This teacup features a free-spirited depiction of dragonflies flying about in the workshop garden.
The shades of color reminiscent of ink paintings allow you to feel the beauty of Japan and the seasons.
This piece is made by carefully crafting a teacup on a potter's wheel, drawing a dragonfly in liquid rubber and applying bands of paint to it. The liquid rubber is then removed and a top glaze is applied, and the cup is then fired again and again to finish it off.
The iron glaze used in the painting is made from raw materials collected from nearby rice fields and mixed in-house.
This teacup is perfect for everyday use or as a gift.
You can enjoy watching the crazing and depth of the color increase as you use it.
