John Lindley was a British botanist and orchidist.
Participated in the writing of the Encyclopedia of Plants. After the book was completed in 1829,
Lindley was appointed Chairman of the Department of Botany at University College London until 1860.
Sir Joseph Paxton was an English gardener, architect,
Botanist, engineer and member of the House of Commons from the Liberal Party,
Designed the Crystal Palace.
