Use a mild soap, getting junk out of nooks and crannies with a soft toothbrush. Be gentle and don’t rub too hard. Also can use a jewellery polishing cloth to restore shine. In some cases jewellery cleaner liquid is good for plated jewellery. It’s tougher on dirt and sticky substances than gentler soap.
