Hiramatsu first experimented with making rings in the early 1950s.Those rings, simple in structure ,were created by striking round wire with a hammer to create rhythmical chasings, then simply coiling the wire into the form of a ring.
Initially he worked with aluminum wire, anodizing it to produce multicolored effects, then later began using sliver. His explorations of the expressive potential of wire continued until the 1990s and have created a cornucopia of variations.
