The cuttlefish bone casting method is one of the oldest methods of making jewelry. Jewelry craftsmen in Europe in the 5th and 60th centuries have used the cuttlefish bone casting method to cast gold and silver jewelry.
The cuttlefish bone is the hard bone inside the squid body. It has a natural wave pattern, so that the metal surface after the mold is left, leaving a different wave texture.
The class will be taught by professional jewellery craftsmen. Students will learn the basic techniques of metalworking skills in the classroom and experience the unique metal pendant of the cuttlefish bone mold.
There are no two squid bones in the world that are the same, just as there are no two in the world. Because of the inability to control the wave pattern inside the cuttlefish bone, each piece of work will show a different appearance. This uncertainty adds a lot of fun to cast. Each piece of individually cast jewelry is a unique fate to the user and deserves a fine taste.
