Born in Hong Kong, artist Evan Wu studied graphic design and jewelery design at the Design First Institute of Art & Design and HK Polytechnic University. Having graduated with a Fine Art Master Degree in RMIT University at 2012, Wu’s work has since been shown at various locations including HK Cultural Centre, Shantou University China and Hong Kong Arts Centre. Her works span different media from ink to print to paper cuts. The artist draws heavily on traditional elements for inspiration. Her works are also an active process of reflection upon the surroundings. In her previous exhibition, she turned waste magazine paper into delicate and intricate butterfly installation, in hope of generating public awareness on the issue of recycling. Her works show a deep concern and love she has for the community and surroundings she is in.
