My teacher in middle school wanted a sake cup, so I came up with a design that I could be happy with. It is carved all the way around using a traditional yari-garaishi, and the intersection of a large, open bottom chrysanthemum flower with eight petals is aligned to match the intersection at the bottom of the yari-garaishi. When you look through the round open section, the chrysanthemum at the bottom appears as a virtual image due to the refraction of light through the glass, making it appear to float double. We have listed the dimensions, but we have also included a photo of the size when held in the hand for reference. I think it's a good choice for drinking a little at a time of sake, hot sake, or high-quality alcohol. Although we added a little originality, it is a basic design with traditional motifs added to the sides and the whole piece is basically made up of traditional motifs.
