Handmade grass-dyed Sashiko Embroidery thread 20/3, 20/4
Dye material: Kudzu leaves
Length: 50m
Plant introduction:
Kudzu, or kudzu vine, is a common climbing plant in fields and countryside in Taiwan and Japan. It can grow all year round. The quality of stems and leaves is best when there is abundant rain in spring and summer. After complicated processing, the fiber in the stem can become the source of material for Japan's top fiber production technology "Kudzu"; the leaves are evergreen and have an inverted triangle shape. The key to identification lies in the growth pattern of three leaves in a group. This time, kudzu leaves were used as the dyeing material, and homemade copper Bronze was used as the mordant to complete two colors.
Main color introduction:
Light yellow tiller (うすきはだ), the traditional Japanese definition color is described as bright light yellow, and the color of this batch is lighter. This color is the color of kudzu leaf liquid without mordant, which is the same as the original color tone of general herbs.
Wakaba color (わかばいろ), the traditional Japanese definition color is described as soft and tender green. This color is the color after Bronze mordant dyeing, and I want to express the refreshing and clean feeling of the leaves in spring and summer.
